Photo Gallery: N.J. Families Attend “Celebrate Our Children” Event

NEW BRUNSWICK, N.J. — On April 20, 2024, families and community members gathered outside the Rutgers Institute for Health Sciences to participate in the "Celebrate Our Children" event, which was hosted by Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital’s Community Health Promotions Program.

The event ran from 11 AM to 2 PM, and aimed to raise awareness about children's health and wellness. Community members and families attended the lively event, which featured upbeat music and colorful tables. Various organizations offered informational tables and free screenings. Among them were the New Brunswick Fire Department, New Brunswick Tomorrow and Live Well New Brunswick — each of which offered insights into community health and safety. Children participated in face paintings, caricatures and group reading activities.

Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital offered blood pressure tests and free screenings. They also provided information, resources and gave away free merchandise. In addition to health and wellness, volunteer instructors offered free group reading sessions to children. Each child was given a book to take home.
