I play guitar in a couple bands, which you can follow on Instagram @secretswehold and @saintstonem. I also produce some stuff.

It started in the summer of 2015, when I picked up an electric guitar for the first time. I spent hours locked away in my room blasting rock music and fumbling around the fretboard. Eventually, I learned a few basic chords. And then a few riffs. And finally, a full song.

In 2023, I’m fairly skilled at acoustic, electric, and bass guitar. I listen to a variety of music — from pop to grunge to trap — but the endless pursuit of technical skill has turned me into a huge metalhead. Some of my favorite metal bands include Linkin Park, Dayseeker, Avenged Sevenfold, Ice Nine Kills, Polaris, ERRA, Trivium, A Day To Remember, Bad Omens, and Spiritbox.

I also listen to a fair bit of alternative rock: I enjoy Paramore, Angels & Airwaves, Young the Giant, Saosin, Movements, and others. These bands all have some influence on the way I play and approach music compositionally.

Using the digital audio workstation REAPER, I taught myself how to capture live instruments through direct input and how to use instrument emulation plugins. Through trial and error, I also learned basic mixing and mastering skills.

As of Fall 2022, I have started two local bands at Rutgers University. Here’s part of a punk rock demo I wrote and produced for my band Saint Stonem. I recorded, mixed, and mastered this demo, and also wrote the lead guitar, bass, and drum parts.
